Nuevamente el mundo está en vilo por la irracionalidad beligerante de los Estados y de sus clases dirigentes y los humanistas alzamos nuestra voz para condenar con la mayor energía a quienes menosprecian la vida, o la posponen ante otros valores. El cuadro de situación que ofrece hoy la política internacional es desolador. Estados Unidos de Norteamérica y los países integrantes de la OTAN, la mayor fuerza bélica unilateral, deberían comprender que la distorsión que significa ser los máximos promotores de guerra -con el pretexto que sea, es lo que indican los hechos- tiene consecuencias que van más allá de cualquier previsión. Otras grandes potencias, como Rusia y China no están haciendo los esfuerzos necesarios para concretar la paz y no vacilan en vender armas y dar apoyo diplomático a quienes consideran sus aliados al ser opositores a sus enemigos. Finalmente, pequeños Estados -como es el caso de Corea del Norte- privilegian el armamentismo y la prevalencia de una casta militar por encima del bienestar de sus pueblos y toman decisiones de las cuales es difícil volver atrás.
